Terms and Conditions      Elegant Dog Grooming Terms & Conditions      In the grooming process all care is taken to ensure the health of your pet. Elegant Dog will do whatever is appropriate for the well being of all pets while in their care, however if the services of a veterinarian are required, Owner authorize Elegant Dog to obtain veterinarian treatment in the case of an incident or serious medical problem being discovered during grooming. Owner agrees that Elegant Dog, its owners and operators are not liable for any pre-existing conditions and problems found during grooming and Owner agrees to pay for all medical treatment incurred due to such. Elegant Dog is not a vet and any advice given regarding health problems should at all times be checked with a vet. In the event of matted hair, needing a shave down/clip down, Owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process, as well as uncovering nicks, and cuts, a medicated bath is recommended. Owner agrees that Elegant Dog shall not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems "uncovered" on a badly matted neglected coat which could include, but are not limited to the following: itchiness, skin redness or self inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive external rubbing. Elegant Dog reserves the right to refuse to groom any pet for the safety of the groomer and the dog. A soft muzzle may be used, or services discontinued or refused for the well being of your pet, and the groomer. Owner agrees to inform Elegant Dog prior to grooming if the dog has bitten or has aggressive tendencies. Owner understands they will be held liable for all bites caused by the dog. Owner agrees to pay all cost for the grooming of the dog including but not limited to special handling, de-matting, and fees due for late pick up, and missed appointments. Missed appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the standard grooming charge and are due before further appointments will be booked. ---Please be ON TIME or up to 15 min. early for your appt. Clients over 15-20 min. late, may have to re-book. (Missed appointment fees apply). Elegant Dog works by appointment only. Pick-up will be due at the arranged time. While Elegant Dog does allow reasonable leeway for traffic and unforeseen circumstances, dogs left late will be charged a late pick up and/or sitting fee. Please call if you are running late. If you wish to drop off your dog in the morning and pick him/her up after work please make these arrangements at the time of making your appointment. A small sitting fee may apply. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required. If Elegant Dog does not receive 24-hour notice, a re-booking fee will be applied. (Family emergency's will be considered). Please make sure your dog has relieved itself prior to grooming.   ************************************************************** The following form will be given to you to sign if your dog is extremely matted:     MATTED DOG RELEASE FORM Matted coats can cause a variety of skin & health problems. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections. Fleas, ticks, maggots and other parasites may be lurking in the coat causing further skin infections. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay on the mats. The skin underneath is usually raw and inflamed. Matted coats will not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and skin. Due to matting, pets' hair may need to be shaved extremely short to the skin and may show signs of skin irritation and sores due to matting, wet undercoat and dirty coat. Pets that have not been groomed often enough usually result in long, stressful, or painful grooming sessions. Some dogs never recover from that experience. It is the goal of Elegant Dog to make your pet's grooming experience as stress free as possible. Due to the condition of ____________________(dogs name) Elegant Dog has determined that the only humane thing to do is a shortie/shave down. This is a short clip, removing all the matting. It is unfeasible to de-mat/brush out and would cause excessive pain and suffering to attempt to do so. Elegant Dog will be happy to show you how to care for your pet's coat for the future, however, due to the stress and pain it will undoubtedly cause your pet this is not an option at this time. There is a strong chance that your pet's skin will become more irritated during the clipping process. We recommend using a medicated shampoo to help sooth any irritation that may occur. Due to the mats being tight against the skin, the only way of removing them is to use a short blade to clip between skin and mats He/she may be nicked and or cut because I have to work so closely to the skin to remove the coat. I am very careful, but the possibility of injury is there, and you need to be aware of this and give me permission to proceed.           ____________________________________________________ I hereby release Elegant Dog from any responsibility of the above-mentioned process and any and all medical problems that may be uncovered and or occur during the stripping process. Should my pet need Veterinarian care after or during the process, I agree to pay any and all Veterinarian fees for my above-mentioned pet's care.
